Autumn

Whole October, November and beginning of December. This is like spring, the best time of year for groups and sightseeing traveling. Biking, hiking and different sport preparations are perfect for those coming from northern Europe where the temperature has reached freezing a long time ago. Very Pleasant temperatures of around 15-20c and the same in the sea offer you the maximum enjoyment on the Nature and Culture scene of Croatia. During these months it’s possible to enjoy the big mandarin harvest or help us pick the olives from which we make one of Europes best olive Oil. The peace and quietness, and the many colours and fruits of the nature will for sure inspire both writers, artists, birdwatchers, as well as sport fishers and game hunters.

Spring

Spring in Dalmatia already start showing its real face in early March and last until early May.

We enjoy the thousand colours and flowers in our mountains, olive and orange tree blossom in the valleys and all kind of fish is coming back from the dark depts. This is a time of huge contrasts…. where swimming and snow walking, sailing and skiing is possible in the same day. Where you walk through the trails of history and pick wild asparagus, green fresh Mediterranean herbs, early strawberries and cherries. A time where all famous Dalmatian winds - Bora, Siloko, Mistral and Tramontana can blow and temperatures start at 15c and reach some 27c in early May. Sea Temperatures depend on the winter but swimming usually starts around end of April and beginning of May where temperatures gets around 20c. This period is best for guests who like it quite and want to become a part of the nature, but at the same time want to be active, explore our country, and see how one of the most popular tourist destinations of Europe wakes up from its winter sleep.

A perfect time for all kind of groups like; hiking, biking, bird watching, sport groups, buss groups etc…..

Summer

Is our longest season and can i some years last for almost 6 months. Let’s therefore divide it a bit to make it easier to choose your date. This is the time of light and pleasant Mistral Winds blowing every day from 14h-18h cooling the land. It’s very rare with rain in this period, which makes us to among the sunniest places in Europe with c.a 2780 sun hours.

Early Summer:Mid May - First Week July – Imagine summer temperatures of 24-30c in the air and around 23-25 in the sea but still the incredible peace and a lot of space on beaches, roads and famous sightseeing places. This is the perfect time for a combination of swimming vacation with an active sightseen vacation. Nights and days can still be enjoyed without air-condition with open windows and just the sound of sea where night and morning temperatures stay from 15-20c. This is the best time of the year for our Hotel Excursions.

Peak Summer:Second Week July – End of August – If you like a dynamic atmosphere with a lot of hustle and bustle, summer festivals and parties, night swims, high temperatures both in Sea and land (Sea- 24-29c Land- 25-39c,) this is your time. This is also the child friendly part of the year where your children practically can enjoy more time in the sea than outside. Beaware of high UV and a lot of suncream, and very crowdy beaches. This is also a time of year where we don’t recommend to much car excursions – stick to the SEA and boat & swim excursions.

Late Summer:Whole September, some years even first 2 weeks in October - Maybe the most pleasant time of the year. The sea still accumulates very good temperatures 23-26c. Warm in the air during the day but pleasant nights between 15-20C. Still sea and not much wind make it very favourable for sea excursion. The best gastro and wine part of the year, fruits and vegetables practically hanging from every tree in the nature, and grape harvesting and wine making period. Everything is still open all-around but there is a lot of space for everyone on beaches and roads. A good time of the year to rent a car or even come with your own.

Winter

Mid December – Beginning of March

180years ago parts of the Croatian cost started develop their tourism in the winter season thanks to the Habsburg upper class who escaped the cold, the fog and the snow. Much sun, clean sea air was in those times the only cure for many kind of lung diseases. Dalmatia’s sun is shining in average over 20 days per month in the winter and with the new highway going straight from central Europe to south Dalmatia – you check the weather forecast and within a few hours you are 20c away drowning in strong sun.
This is a time in year where the tourism in most places of Dalmatia goes for a winter sleep, but the beauty and soul continues to shine. With an average temperature of approximately 12c and 15c in the sea and air many activities are still possible.
Snow, fog and zero temperatures are very seldom along the cost. Anyhow the incredible contrasts within 1 hour from the cost you find yourself in excellent alpine skiing conditions, so bring both your sunglasses and skiing equipment.
